A milkshake IPA brewed with thousands of pounds of fresh blueberry puree and vanilla beans. Lactose (milk sugar) and oats are used to develop a thick 'n rich body. We finish this delicious treat with a heavy dry hop of Mosaic hops to add even more berry depth.

Thick hazy magenta body with a pinkish cap and lacing. Smells strongly of vanilla with sugar blueberries supporting. Taste reminds me of the blueberries in the top of a muffin near the sugar with a ton of vanilla, earthy hops finish, just doesn't come together like others in the series but stay separated. Feel is creamy, frothy, sugary and thick. It is ok, the first to be so in this series

Tasted in a snifter from draft at Beer Bazaar on November 5, 2019. Milkshake IPA brewed with thousands of pounds of fresh blueberry puree and vanilla beans. Milk sugar and oats are used to develop a thick, rich body. Finished with a heavy dry-hop of Belma and Mosaic to add more berry depth.

Canned 10/11/19; drank 10/17/19 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark purple appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice white/purple head; frothy lace.
Rich blueberry, vanilla & faint honeyed wheat notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Blueberry & vanilla flavors; fruity & somehow not too sweet.
Simple but effective.

L: Pours with a very turbid, dark magenta color with a small, pink-ish head.
S: The vanilla dominates the nose of this beer. The blueberry is there, but it's hiding way in the back trying to get your attention.
T: Through the very thick, and viscous body, again the vanilla takes over. Blueberries are definitely in there, but I had to try to pinpoint when I could taste them. They came out a bit more as the beer warmed up, but unfortunately the vanilla flavor was impacted as well, and began developing a slight bitter taste (not the hops). The hop presence definitely does it's job by giving these adjuncts a nice, slightly bitter backbone, for a solid milkshake IPA offering.
F: This is a THICK beer. From the pillow-y base, the added lactose, and the blueberries, this one almost feels like a milkshake.
O: I really enjoyed this, but I would have loved the blueberries to shine a bit more. My rating would have been much closer to 5/5 if that were the case.
