Tasted in a snifter from draft at Consume on December 20, 2019. Milkshake IPA brewed with fresh orange puree and vanilla beans. Lactose and oats are used to develop a thick and rich body. They finish this delicious treat with a heavy dry hop of Citra hops to add even more citrus fruit depth.

Canned 11/22/19; drank 11/28/19 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque orange appearance.
A violent pour yielded a small white head; almost no lace.
Orange soda & cream notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Orange soda mixed with cream soda?
Sweet as hell & doesn't really seem like beer. Permanent pass on this one.

My first milkshake IPA from Maplewood and I'm impressed. I feel like these can be too sweet when done badly, and although this is sweet, it seems spot on for the style. There's less overall vanilla and orange flavor than I remember from the Hop Butcher Blazed Orange or the similar Phase 3 version. The HB still win out in my mind, but this is great. It has a great soft mouthfeel with lowish carbonation. I'll look for the next iteration when it comes out!
