Canned 10/19/23; drank 12/1/23 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE tan head; frothy lacing remained.
Cocoa, fresh earth & faint raspberry notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Fresh earth, cocoa & cream flavors.
Balanced & tasty. I'd have another!

Dark brown body with two fingers of tan foam that die down quickly into a cap. Smell captures the traditional aromas of the German yeast, bittersweet cocoa, and earth quite nicely. Taste takes those traditional flavors and adds complimentary nuts, semisweet chocolate, and hint of smoky coffee grounds. So creamy and smooth while staying light in body, dark in complexion. A wonderful schwarz that pairs great with bbq ribs
