The Pug line from Maplewood is one of the most intriguing. It all culminates on Pug Day when people bring their dogs to the brewery. Most recently, we had the cinnamon roll variant. Surpringsly low on sweetness, it reels in the hot and spicy side of cinnamon. The lactose smooths it all out into an enjoyable cinnamon ale. They could look to add a bit more pastry power to bring this one up.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with large, light brown head of fluffy foam. It left sticky patches of lace on the glass. It smelled of spicy cinnamon, sweet caramel and toffee with bready notes. Strong cinnamon bite up front with sweet caramel and roasted malt.
