Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Cruz Blanca Craft Cerveza
Bock style lager brewed with Oaxacan forest honey. A perfect lagerbier for the fall, with fresh baked bread notes and a bit of hop spice, woven with the complex dark and sweet earthy flavors imparted from this beautiful honey.

This beer pours a lovely, brilliant burnished orange tinged brown color. A thick, velvety tan head forms on the beer. The head lingers for a while, only slowly dissipating over time, but never completely. There is always about a quarter inch of velvety foam remaining on the beer. The aroma has notes of grainy, nutty malts, slight toastiness, a touch of rustic bread and a faint whiff of something lightly sweet.
Taste follows the nose with the malts dominating up front - there are notes of nuttiness, a slight toasted character and some grainy notes. It's not as polished as I want from my malts in a lager/bock - it comes across a bit rough. Beyond that there is a slight sweetness present in the beer, albeit very subtle and more complimentary than anything. On the finish there are some spicy almost peppery hops. Feel is medium bodied, smooth with a finish that trends drier. Moderate, but sprightly carbonation.
Overall if the malts in this were more bready and not grainy, this would be an awesome beer. As it is, it's very good and one I would definitely drink again.
