In what's probably not going to be your father's lager beer, Maplewood dries out their lager and hops it up pretty good with all sorts of Mosaic goodies to give today's dads something to clamor over.
Pale straw and carrying a modest haze, Driptide takes a page out of the west coast playbook while rising with a tall, white, foamy cap. As its fruity and herbal scent shed's a perfume of citrus, tropical fruit and grassy dankness, the first sip is modestly sweet with dry wafer, honeysuckle and a subtle hint of bread dough. Hops rise more forceful than usual with a blend of lime, white grapefruit and passionfruit. Trending herbal and bitter with verbena, black tea and sassafras, the finish is quick, dry and bitter leaning.
Medium-light in body, the lager is certainly an updated version with new and exciting hop flavor and could easily be confused with India Pale Lager.
