Dark brown colour, deep chestnut, with considerable opacity, slight ruby reflections visible. Foam is low, finely bubbled, moderately persistent, beige in colour. It "paints on the glass" very nicely.
Aroma very pleasant, fruity-sweet, there is redcurrant, plum marmalade. There is liquorice root, a hint of roasted caramel, herbs. The whole gives the impression of something substantial, sophisticated.
On the palate, the leading flavour is currant sourness and, slightly behind, a spicy, spicy bitterness that could evoke associations with medicine, syrup.
Alcohol perfectly placed. Saturation low, texture not overly smooth. Body noticeable as medium. Aftertaste long sour with a slightly dry (bitter) finish.
