Robust, brash, brilliant: Our I.P.A. is balanced, self-determined and sure.
Featuring a distinct malt presence, notes of peach, passion fruit, pine, and citrus alongside a unique blend of hops from the Pacific Northwest, our I.P.A. offers a crisp, clean finish. Satisfyingly strong, but surprisingly smooth, I.P.A. pairs perfectly with a chicken korma or madras curry.

I drank a tall boy can of this beer whilst taking in the Nanaimo Clippers hockey game at Frank Crane arena. It poured a clear golden with white head that left spotty lace. The scent had bittering hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp pale malt base with bitter citrus presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a great beer.

473 ml can (picked up at the brewery), poured into a small nonic glass. Pours clear, pale yellow with a tall, frothy head of white foam. Familiar aromas of pine needles, citrus and light grains. Flavor follows with more pine, citrus, malty body and restrained but satisfying bitterness. Medium body, creamy feel with fine carbonation. Smooth, satisfying and straightforward West Coast IPA.

Appearance - Pours an amber with three fingers of bubbly white head.

Smell - mild citrus and earthy hops, bready caramel malts, hint of soapiness.

Taste - Predominately bready caramel malts. The hops are there but very mild.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a malty sweetness.

Overall - A lackluster IPA that is solely malt based. The hops need significant improvement in order to make this more true to the style.

Picked this one up at the Legacy Liquor Store. I guess this brewery has changed their offerings along with their labels (beautiful new labels, by the way - this one's got a painting of someone on a bike in a forest). Or maybe this is just a name change and is actually the same beer as one of the two IPAs they've made in the past.

Appealing appearance. Gold/amber and clear. Not a whole lot of head, but what there is stays.

Fairly malty for an IPA. It's got a bitter hop kick, but unfortunately, not so much of the fruity hop flavours I really enjoy. A matter of preference, one supposes.
