Old Cat Barleywine pours a slightly hazy deep red with a thin offwhie head. The aroma is a sweet light caramel maltiness with an odd nuttiness. The flavor is sweet and fruity, I could believe this beer was brewed only with pale malt. The sweetness is somewhat balanced by a solid bitterness. The beer finishes with a fruity, almost sour character and some light oaky tannins.
