Bought at Brewery Creek Liquor Store, May 2014 for $6.45 + deposit.
A: Lovely dark reddish brown. About 2 cm of head that dissipates to a few mm around the glass and a light skin of bubbles across the surface.
S: Dark fruits - plum, cherry, figs - and chocolate.
T: Lovely. Follows the aroma. Nice malt flavours. Slightly sweet, roasted but not super dark and bitter.
F: Medium bodied.
O: This is a very nice brown ale that I would be happy to drink again. I wish this brewery's beers were more widely available.

Wolf Brewing 'Wood Cutter' @ 6.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $5
A-pour is a dark brown from bottle to glass with a creamy off white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-some smoke , hints of caramel in the background
T-a typical bitter brown ale , a tad bit watery
MF-moderate carbonation , medium body , big bittersweet finish lingers on the palate
Ov-starts good , finish's weak , just an ok beer

Poured from 650mL bottle (purchased @ Spinnaker's Liquor Store, 1st place in town I've seen it!) into 16oz pint glass.
A: Poured a semi-opaque, root-beer brown, slightly cloudy with a nice off-white head, patchy lacing and a moderate retention.
S: Classic Wolf shortbread, with some peat and smoky undertones. Bit of malt, nuts and slight hop.
T: A definite improvement over the scent, this feels heavy for a Brown: shortbread, peat, an almost-Scottish malt, with nuts at the back.
M: A little bit week, low-moderate carb, doesn't linger on the tongue much at all. Meh.
O: Certainly a good beer, and continues in the style of Wolf's other offerings. I would definitely choose the Porter or IPA over this, though. It is true to the style, though, only not quite smoky or malty enough.

I picked this brew up on a trip to Vancouver Island. It's described as "Original and Honest"... The label one the 650ml bottle is quite nice.
The beer pours a dark brown/amber colour with a thick fluffy head that settles out into a nice creamy layer floating on top.
The aroma is quite nice. It's slightly try and toasty with notes of caramel and molasses coming through.
The flavour is very satisfying. It starts out slightly sweet, and slightly toasty. Some slight hoppyness comes through, and quickly gets taken over by rich malt flavours. Some notes of caramel come though towards the end alongside some light nutty aftertaste.
Overall, This is one of the better brown ales I've had in a while. I've been trying some of the staples, and this is definitely high up on my list. Sadly, I don't know when I'll be able to get it again.
