Well it tastes of ginger. Not very peppery but persistent. A half hour after the last drop I still feel a sort of heat in my stomach. I find that it lacks in beer taste. As mentioned by others it is quite light and a bit underwhelming. Once is enough for me thank you!

A: Thin head that dissipates quickly. No lacing to speak of. Pale, dull straw yellow colour with some carbonation evident rising from the bottom of the glass.
S: sweet ginger is present with a faint sour note. Reminds me of pickled ginger at a japanese restaurant. Not entirely pleasant.
T: Very light taste, in contrast with the overly bold nose. A little surprising, given the impression the nose left. The ginger is subdued and pleasant. The sweet and bitter interplay nicely without being overwhelming. Some bread/biscuit notes seem to come through late in the finish, reminiscent of gingerbread.
M: Carbonation is pleasant on the tongue, but overall thin and watery feel. Would benefit from a bit more substance.
D: This might be an okay drink around the Christmas season as a lighter brew with a festive twist. The smell puts me off wanting more.
O: I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this beer, but so long as I don't breathe through my nose as I'm sipping it it turned out alright. Plenty of room for improvement but not a bad effort.

Had on tap at St. Bock, in Montreal's lovely St. Denis Street area.
This beer appears clear, pale yellow colour, with very little head, and no lace to speak of. It smells like ginger ale, the real kind, with actual ginger. The taste is mild ginger, sweet white grain, and bit of sugary sweetness. The carbonation is moderate, the body light and somewhat thin, and it finishes with a soft, sweet ginger finish. An interesting, and fairly decent adult version of a ginger beer.

Tasted on April 10th, 2009.
Right up front, this is not an out of this world beer. To me this look more like a beer with some additional taste added after... I would sum it up to a pale ale with some ginger in it...
Pours as a yellow beer with some ginger in the aroma. Not bad since it is not overwhelming. The ginger brings some spicyness in the taste... not bad but like I said nothing overwhelming.
Not a bad beer. Glad I tasted it... not sure I'll go there again.

341 ml bottle. Brewed in October
A- Cloudy with lots of partcles. Head effervescent and fdes quickly (like a soft drink). Pale yellow colour.
S- Strong ginger aroma, like ginger ale only stronger.
T- Tastes a bit like diet ginger ale with a metallic finish reniniscent of artificial sweetener. Ginger overwhelms everything else.
MF- A bit drying/asrtringent. Fizzy. Might be better with a fresher bottle.
D- basically alcoholic ginger ale. Could use more beer character. Drinkable though.

12oz bottle with a November brewed date, purchased in the early summer at Trappe A Fromage in Gatineau. Pours a light cloudy white with uncontrollable head. Massive carbonation and some little bits (ginger? doesn't really look like it) floating around in all the bubbles. Weak, somewhat yeasty aroma. The flavour is initially spicy, although ginger is not particularly evident. Unfortunately, the flavour is relatively weak and watery overall.

341 mL brown bottle identified as being brewed in April.
Very pale straw blonde with a half an inch of foam that dissipates within a minute.
Unsurprisingly, a powerful ginger aroma comes up from the brew with faint caramel malt coming through.
A faint malty taste gives way to a moderate ginger burn. Finishes dry and spicy with astringent, almost tannic, notes reminiscent of white wine. Also noticeable was a flowery, herbal taste coming in after a second or two. Body is quite thin with moderate carbonation.
Refreshing and spicy, but kind of one-dimensional.

Pours a clear brown with a light head, not a lot of head or lacing on this one. Smells malty but with a ginger presence. The taste is light, malty with nice ginger taste and spiciness to it. The mouthfeel was rather smooth, highly carbonated but it worked. I would try this one again, not spectacular but interesting and pretty solid. Thanks for the sample Radek.

Brown with mocha foam. Very ginger, some corridander. Thin tasting, one-dimensional. Strong carbonation and one must really want an infusion of ginger. Not too impressed with this microbrewery however they are trying different receipes. Thanks for sharing Radek.

Bottle: Poured a golden colored beer with very little head. Seems to lack carbonation. Aroma is quite sweet and ginger can already be detected. Taste is totally overpowered by ginger, which in my case is a good thing since I quite like ginger. Overall, this is a very refreshing beer that may lack subtlety but those not lack ginger.

Pours down the pint glass exactly like apple cider, a crisp translucent yellow, with small white head. Great ginger smell, not peppery but more like the pink pickled kind.
The ginger taste overpowers everything else, but somehow I have a feeling there isn't much to overpower anyways. I couldn't detect any malt or hop profile at all. Mouthfeel was very light.
Nonetheless, I found myself enjoying this brew on a hot sunday afternoon. It would have been even better with sushi. It could very easily replace Sake, and I plan to do so next time, since I'm not a big fan of rice wine.
On a side note, this Beer won the public's choice award at this year's Mondial de la Bière in Montréal (2004). I first tried it at the festival, and even tried a recipe that used it. Some chefs were doing a cooking with Beer seminar and I tried veal filets with Ginger Beer sauce. Although it was quite good, I didn't pick up any of the ginger flavour so I recommend you drink it rather than cook with it.
