Promising flavor profile and body, but...eh. Poured into a shaker, looks dense dull gold with a tinge of amber, and a 1/2 finger head, with okay retention. Seems to have some nice quality ingredients behind it — full body for the abv, and some good breads (but not doughy Pilsner maltiness. Hops are a little muted...earthy and grassy, i guess, but not much in the way of spiciness or bitterness. The lack of any crisp finish or much of a hoppy liveliness or bite left me wishing for something different. I didn’t get the sense from the other beers on the board that German lagers are really a focus, so next time i’ll try something different.
