Palate Contaminants: other beer
The look is a medium-light amber with a good amount of very fine head. There could stand to be a little more lacing. It does let some light through, but it's fairly opaque.
I get a little bit of honey and a little bit of tobacco on the nose. Light-moderate malt. It's earthy without being vegetative. The nose isn't particularly strong, weak even, but it's interesting that I'm going more with whiskey words than brewski words, especially an IPA.
There's a ton of corn in the taste, so maybe that explains the nose. There's a bready (maybe torilla-y?) graininess, and there could stand to be a little more of the typical hop level. There's some woodsiness, but it's dark wood, so maybe that's how I get tobacco on the nose. Bitterness is mild-moderate.
Fine carbonation, although slightly prickly. Alcohol not detectable, although it is only a fiver. Aftertaste has more of that corn, but that's not derogatory. It's sorta like a slightly bitter popcorn.
