Living Luster Dark Cherry Porter

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to a thin cap with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cherry and cocoa. Flavor follows with dark toasted malt with light char, unsweetened cherry juice and light cocoa. Cocoa and light cherry in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A moderate bodied porter with a deft use of cherry. I'm not a fan of tart flavors in porters or stouts, but this is nicely balanced. Not too complex, but well done.
