This IPA is brewed with Connecticut grown and malted barley and wheat, and fermented in stainless steel with our house Brettanomyces (wild) yeast for an expressive fermentation character intertwined with choice noble hops. The German Tettnang, Loral and Grungeist hops provide appreciable IPA character when drank fresh and intertwine with our brett character for additional nuance as the beer mature

500ml bottle

Pours a cloudy hazy orange gold with a dense creamy white foam head with good retention. Smells like tropical pineapple, mango, orange citrus, grapefruit, lemon, some dusty farmhouse, hint of leather, toasty grain, hay, mild spice, with floral earthy herbal resinous grassy pine. Tastes like acidic tangerine orange citrus, lemon, grapefruit, some tropical mango, pineapple, white raspberry, grainy toasty malts, hay, dusty farmhouse, leathery tire, mild phenolic spice, with earthy herbal resinous grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy, soft and smooth, drying with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice really Brett IPA.

Batch 4, bottled september 2018, 500 ML bottle.

Pour here is hazed light and yellowy...leaves ample froth, and fine wispy lacing all over the glass. Final pour adds some yeasty sediment.

Funked up nose, with earth and lime.

Complex and super tasty...more lime, earth, light peppe.r, drying hops in the finish....well crafted and well worth a try

It seemed like a work in process the needs a couple more tweeks to the recipe or process.

This beer is in a word, awful. I don't know what KFBC was trying to do with it, but the title of the beer couldn't be any more true. It doesn't feel like a "final form" of anything. The head foam when pouring it instantly takes up half the glass, the carbonation is outrageous. The taste instantly has a mix between toothpaste and scotch tape. It tastes like a Mr. Beer home-brew kit gone wrong. Without getting nasty about it, I'll just say I'm not surprised this beer is already retired by KFBC. Yuck! The color is nice, so I'll give it 1.5. Otherwise, stay away!

Great blend of fruity hop character and dry funky flavors. Great carb and light body. Easy to drink. Carries all the satisfaction of an IPA with the best character of a dry saison.

A: Golden in color with a thick, puffy white head. Not much light coming through. Some bubbles streaming to the top.

S: Nice citrus on the nose with the subtlest hint of the brett. Not much else. While this isn't the most aromatic beer, the smells that I do pick up are quite nice.

T: Definitely leaning more on the hoppy side than the tart side. Nice hoppy, fruity, tropical notes balance well with a bit of funkiness at the back end.

M: Could have been chilled a little longer. Bubbly at the front, hoppy at the back. Decent body in the middle consisting mostly of carbonation and bubbles from the frothy head.

O: Not a bad beer. I would have like the brett to come through a bit more, but the hop characteristics are very refreshing. It's medium body and goes down quite nicely.

Orange gold pour that picks up some haze when you swirl glass and kick up the sediment. Nice foamy head that lingers. Aroma of orange zest, grapefruit, hay and lemon. More hops than funk. Taste is melon, graperuit, orange rind, lemon, grass and a little brett-funk but not much. It does have an interesting bitter and slightly funky aftertaste and finishes crisp but it doesn't hit either the APA or brett-forward ale profile with much success.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Pale straw lemon body color, with loads of carbonation. Out of the bottle slowly but largely foams up like fine bubble bath. Giant soapy bleach white head, with a big retention and island clump. The head literally is growing out of my glass when it stands being pushed up from the bottom by large amounts of fine fast carbonation. Soapy lacing and chunks of head as it very slowly settles. Fascinating and horrifying to look at but I can't turn away.

Excellent brett and mixed hop aroma. Large funk, with excellent tropical hop notes. Exotic mango and pineapple that comes off very fresh on the nose. Brett angle seems to accent the fruit qualities even more so, and doesn't get hot or distracting. Excellent complementing qualities.

Palate seems to be a bit damaged by excessive carbonation. Light bodied with an almost peppery quality in the mid palate but hints a little metallic and tin like in flavor at first. Lots of carbonation and a big amount of gaseous flavor, almost burning in a way going down the throat. Dominant carbon dioxide flavors with little of the fruity hop quality getting through. Tongue overly tickling as well.

There's some real potential here, but one piece of the product is just ruining the experience. Drinkable with some even excellent qualities, but not well put together.
