Located in a small town named Kent, this Litchfield County brewery is making very good Connecticut beer. Wooded Streams Vienna inspired lager is no exception.
With beautiful, contemporary landscape label art that’s second to none, and a name like wooded streams - which sounds like a track right off of your fave Maggie Rogers record, this beer is a refreshing look at what an American lager should be.
Hazy caramel liquid pours out with a nice aromatic head of foam, with an easy drinking style. Just the right balance of subtle malt notes with what must be an expertly crafted Ph balanced composition. Ph is what sets the German beer apart from the rest of the new brewing world (Americans), in my opinion anyway. Balance is important. Often startup brewery offerings are far too acidic, which is difficult to drink in any quantity.
At $4.50 each at the local brew shop, it’s not inexpensive, but is well worth the experience. A refreshing taste of what the Connecticut craft beer scene can offer, both in style and execution.
