Brewed in memory of Dave Witham, founder, owner and brewer at Proclamation Ale Co. This beer is based on Dave’s recipe for his renowned Derivative pale ale. Dave’s passing has certainly impacted us all, and we are proud to join the Proclamation team and celebrating the person he was, and brewery he built. Proceeds from the beer will be donated to a 529 plan for his daughter.

Pours a murky darkish yellow that I don't find that appealing. This is offset by a nice foamy head with excellent lacing. Aroma is all tropical fruit, with pineapple the dominant smell, then a generic blend of other fruity aromas that I can't pick out individually. Taste is very different than what I expected. My mind was anticipating a typical juicy NEIPA, but this one has more bitterness than juiciness. For some, that would be a plus. For me, it doesn't connect. Medium bodied and fairly smooth. Happy to have supported the cause, but this was fairly meh for me.

Pours a completely opaque sludgy light orange-yellow color. Nice thick three finger head forms on top of the beer before slowly dissipating. No residual head and minimal lacing on the glass.

Aroma is incredibly pungent from the minute the can is cracked open. Notes of passionfruit, pineapple, pineapple juice, sweet mango are intermingled with some herbal and piney notes.

Taste has notes of pineapple, passionfruit, with some strong herbal, almost spicy herbal, and pine notes. Its way less sweet and more bitter than I expected - the herbal character really plays into and contributes to that bitterness on the back end and into the finish.

Feel is medium bodied an smooth. Prickly but relatively mild carbonation.

Overall this one was really nice. Its not sweet, and has a decent bitterness to it that I really enjoyed.
