This started with a a decent, off-tan head that quickly dissipated into nothingness. It had NE-quality clarity in a deep-amber colored beer. The nose had a strong citrus presence. The mouthfeel was medium with a lightly hoppy finish. Mmmm, hops. Let me think, Hop Devil vs. Hop Dragon. Sorry, Smoky, but the devil is a temptress.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark copper body with a small, off-white head.
Smell: Grassy, citrusy hop aroma with a background of toasted crackers.
Taste: Lightly toasted pale malt flavor with full notes of grass and citrus fruits. Not much sweetness from the malts, but then again not overly bitter, either. Finishes with a very mild, restrained bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A decent IPA that exhibits a strong grass character. I'm not such what joker listed this as a stout, though!

This is a hybrid IPA/American Pale Ale from what I'm told. It apparently is not as strong as an IPA in alcohol, but the hops are there for sure! Not sure why it is listed as a stout.
Any hophead should try this if visiting Auburn. It is a great beer that is full of hops. It is a deep golden orange like color with a small head and nice lacing. It smells of citrusy hops, most likely cascade. There is a nice underlying malt bill, but overshadowed by the explosion of hops in your mouth. It is citrusy at first, but right before the aftertaste comes a slight grassiness flavor. Overall a decent beer, and worth trying if passing through Auburn.

Appearance - Light amber/golden in color. Looks more like a pilsner than a pale.
Smell - This beer is dry hopped with cascades while in the keg. Wonderful citrus aroma of oranges and grapefruits. The nose isn't just there, it smacks you in the face - and this is a wonderful thing. If I could give higher than a five for aroma on this beer I would.
Taste - This beer is called Hop Dragon and consequently is all about hops. The taste is citrusy and hoppy from the start. There's enough of a malt backbone, but it doesn't get in the way of the hops. Lots of cascade flavor here, pretty sure there's chinook as well. It seems to be a mix of several fruits and some dry grassyness in the finish, although not much. Great bitter kick that almost goes unnoticed because of all the other great things about this beer. This is interesting and flavorful enough to satisfy a hophead such as myself, yet tame enough to introduce a newbie to hops. The waitress, who doesn't know a damn thing about beer, says this is one of her favorites??! This is hop candy. Easy to quaff and a great session brew.
And it's an american IPA. I don't know how it came to be listed as a stout.
