I'm not a big fan of Oktoberfests, but I gave this one a try, mainly for the sake of keeping up good info on the Olde Auburn Ale House beers for BA. Served on tap in a pint glass. Poured without a head. This smells of toasted malt, some spicy aroma too that I can't put my finger on. Clear, dark amber color.
Taste - Caramel and toasted malt. Not too heavy on the toasty side, which I think is the character I find unappealing in Oktoberfests. Creamy mouthfeel. Decent amount of bitterness at the end. I'm noticing a subtle, slightly grassy hop finish. Just a little bit of chinooks? I suppose this is a good Oktoberfest. It's just that Oktoberfests aren't my cup 'o tea.
