Received as a Christmas gift from a friend. 7% ABV, bottling date smeared off.
Appearance: A cloudy golden-orange brew.
Aroma: Some citrus, like orange juice, but with some hints of yeast.
Flavor: Sweet, caramel, orange, yeasty,
Mouthfeel: On the lighter side, but about moderate body. Thick like pulpy orange juice (but without pulp if that makes sense). Some very subtle bitterness on the finish, but heavily overtaken by the sweetness.
Overall: Distinctive Belgian brew lager-style. Pretty good overall. Not too heavy, but Belgians to me always had at least medium weight. Though it's a lighter, more refreshing Belgian. Kind of juicy and sweet over herby, though simple it still has that Belgian complexity.
It's like a mix of a sweet lager and Belgian, which balances each other out; and though good, I'm not quite keen on. When I want a Belgian, I want a Belgian. When I want a fruity beer, I want a sweet fruity beer.
I don't regret this drink, and would maybe purchase again.
From the same brewers that make Mons D'abbaye. I prefer the Mons D'abbaye Blonde over this Blonde. Though they each have their own flavor niche. Would make a good summer Belgian.

Smells extremely bad. However, the taste more than makes up for the horrible smell. Only slight difference I noticed is that the one that I tasted was 5%abv while beer advocate states it is 7%abv. All in all a very solid beer that I would drink again.
