Copenhagen 30/6 2018. 33 cl bottle from Best of Beers Web Shop. Very black label which you have to tilt in order to discern the beers name and the logo of the brewer.
Pours opaque dark brown with a big off-white head. Settles as a 2 cm thick blanket of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is intensely fruity and dark. Dark roasted malt, chocolate and coffee intermingling with exotic fruit and some citric grapefruit rummaging in the background.
Soft carbonation. Medium thick, creamy texture sticking to the glass.
Flavor is strongly sweet followed by a weaker bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with bitter notes. Finish is semi-dry.
Fine Black IPA dominated by the roasted dark malts. The hop profile is more subdued - but definitely present.

Almost black, with reddish edges. Beautiful cappuccino colored foam.
In the smell a good amount of hop, fresh and pleasant. Grapefruit, a bit of resinous. Overall, citric.
Taste: light malty notes, dark, and again a good hop, fresh and citric. Spicy notes.
Dark malts, but not toasted.
Average body, quit long aftetaste, grapefruit and resin.
Well done, good general balance.

Pours a brownish black with light brown foam. It looks very promising. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, lightly roasty - then fruits, citrus and grass. The taste is lightly sweet, a bit salty and dry going down. Medium body with a creamy, slick feel and average carbonation. This is great. It was my first ever dark IPA. Dark, creamy, roasty, with an offering of tropical fruit and just the right, light sweetness.

Dark brown color, tan head. Aroma has dark malts, some acidic cacao notes but also some resiny hops. Taste has some spicy notes, cacao, dark malts, oranges and citrusy hops. Medium body and carbonation. A nice black IPA with an interesting citrus and cacao flavor combination.

Dark colour, nice head, medium carbonation.
Smells like coffee and roasted malt.
Bitter and sightly sour initial taste, with the hops left far behind (although the bottle advertises on using no less than 3 types of hops). The bitterness and the coffee are dominating the overall impression.
A black IPA that's not bad, but leaving a lot of room for improvement.

Ruby black with a pile of pitted cappuccino foam. 4
Roast coffee, a touch of treacle, spinachy hops - all faint. 3.75
Coffee candies and brown sugars then light orange zest, vegetal, and mint hops. 4
Arugula finish and evergreen linger.
Medium and a bit, oily, chewy, sticky. 4
Cascade, Columbus, Amarillo
Ten weeks in the bottle. Way overdoes the malts at first - too sweet and full. Opens, though, into a dark green monster - all sorts of leaf. Even then, 65 IBUs may be a bit of a push. How all this comes from some very mainstream US hops, I can’t say. Intriguing, if difficult. 4

Pours black with a big creamy beige head that recedes very slowly.
Smokey roasted malt and dark chocolate on the nose, light coffee, burnt sugar and pretty mild hops, with some citrus and pine hints.
Mix of grapefruit, lemon and dark chocolate in the front, not too bitter tho. Very light caramel, just a short sweet flash, noticeable just for a bit. Roasted malts dominate the rest of the brew, smoked, dark bready, ashy in the finish with a generous amount of coffee powder. So the finish is bitter alright, but not hoppy (really faint pine).
Just a bit of grapefruit peel lingers in the aftertaste. Otherwise just ashy burnt malt and coffee dregs. Medium to light body, low carbonation.
Easy to drink, with a nice contrast (crisp citrus in the start, then rough scorched malts in the finish) that kinda invites you to take a new sip. Nice, but lacking in the hop department.

Thick rocky beige head, pitch black body
Coffee and grapefruit aroma that goes together surprisingly well
Taste follows nose. Quite low bitterness though
Smooth and light on the tongue
Decent representation of the style that falls short of a higher rating due to too low bitterness and I would which for more body
