Jet black in appearance, two finger cola type head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, toast, some acid. As for the taste I couldn't work out whether it had skunked but the bottle was brown and it was in date so I figured not. Oats and malts came through making the taste quite full but a lingering taste of sour milk dominated. Weird acidic aftertaste that didn’t linger but still gave a nasty jolt. Mouthfeel was surprisingly light and slightly bitter with a touch of acid. May retry but didn’t think stouts in brown bottles could skunk.

Black, decent light brown head.
Stout smell, but with some olive notes.
The taste slips away easily. Some toasted, oat, but all quite stale and not too pleasant.
Again olive and brine.
Problems. Too carbonated. Astringency.
No.

Really dark brown color with brown head. Aroma has sweet malt, roasted grains and some chocolate. Taste follows with the roasted grains, astringent, acrid notes, roasty bitterness on the finish. Light body with medium carbonation. Feels and tastes similar to cola but without the sugary sweetness.

Garnet-tinged black with loose tan bubbles that fades but trails. 3.75
Black strap, ash, and dried fig on the nose. 3.75
Lots of chocolate to lead, then black cherry cola, char, and anise candy spice end. 4
Sarsaprilla finish and tightening barky linger.
Medium and then some, creamy, round, and chewy. 4.25
Past date by a month, but short-dated (6 months from bottling) to begin with, so should be OK. Huge for the ABV, almost unctuous. And while 40 IBUs of Tettanger seems a lot for an Oatmeal, it doesn't really punch through through all the bigness, both body and dark botanical flavors. Off-centre take on a non-German style, and plenty to stay entertained. 4.25

From a bottle, pours a dark brown color with a wispy light brown head.
The nose is mostly roast, bitter hop content, roasted barley, oats, bit of chocolate. The flavor is uneventful. Roasted barley, oatmeal, a little lacto and bitter dark chocolate and dark malt. This is a bit too thin for me.
Overall, good flavors, but too thin for my preference.

Dark brown body with a soapy beige collar. Oats, grain, roasted barley, chocolate. Light in body. Lingering chocolate, finishing dry. Pretty good.
