This seems to suffer from a common fault with Doppelbocks-- or is it a feature? Either the sugar gets eaten by bacteria and turns into a sour mess, or as in this case it is just starting to turn. Flavors of spoiled fruit with a dry and acidic finish. Aroma of dirt and sweet vermouth.
Sourish flat cola. Gets worse as you sip. This one will water the new artichoke plant. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the brewery in Tacoma.

One of the better beers I've had from Pacific Brewing. Their stout and porter were a miss, but this one was actually decent.
7 oz. pour, was quite dark, minimal head, zero lacing.
Smelled of sweet cereal grains. Dark fruit.
Taste mirrors nose. Sweet cereal grains, little bit of dark fruit. Drinkable!
Overall I was pleasantly surprised, given my history of subpar beers from Pacific Brewing. Maybe they put more effort into their seasonal releases? This one was written in chalk.
