This beer is found in a lot of local grocery stores around Kigali (and around the country). Gatanu in fact means 5, and reflects the approximate ABV of the beverage. Poured from the 65cl bottle into a mug. The beer is a pure gold color with a white foamy head that has chunky bubbles throughout.

S: A little bit vegetal. Grass. Lemon. Grain.

T: Very "beery" type beer. Grainy malt throughout. A hint of lemon zest. Some earthy hops in the finish.

Overall: This is better than some other offerings in Rwanda. I'll take this over Primus and Mutzig. But if we take it to the wider context, this is a very typical Ero Pale Malt. Not bad at all (avoids some of the skunky character that this style has sometimes) but just not that good.
