At Goldoraks tasting, post-Mondial 2007! Big group of RB guys and a couple BA's, and some on both, it was a great time! Thanks to Goldorak for this one.
Pours a hazy copper gold, small white head forms, lace spots, good retention, head sticks. Smell is nice and malty, very fruity, apples, bit of grapefruit, not bad. Taste is very malty, kind of wheaty, citrus/fruits, nice balance, good bitterness in the finish, slightly weak flavour. Mouthfeel is light bodied with low carbonation, very smooth, very easy to drink. I found it a little bit underwhelming, but a very nice drinking IPA. Thanks Martin!

Appearance: Dark blonde going on bronze with a great meringue that had little thick islands of head kind of like "iles flottantes". Nice cling too!
Smell: Very C-hop oriented aroma, pine and grapefruit mostly, but with a bit of roasted coffee in there to give it an interesting twist.
Taste: A solid IPA just the way I like them, with enough of a malty foundation to withstand the hop attack - I'd be curious to know the IBUs on this one. Finish is strangely both dry and sweet, sort of like when you eat cotton candy.
And to think Qc had no IPAs only a few years ago, we seem to be catching up really well!
