Pours clear, orange-reddish, not much head to speak of. Pretty dark actually. Orange pith and caramelized toast nose. Flavor follows with that rich, nigh-vegetal, old-style bitterness. Fairly old school in all aspects. Dry, bitter, unfortunately not terribly aromatic. There is some slight astringency and a whiff of that "stale dishrag" thing I get sometimes (possibly oxidation?). Not bad. Not good. Hop doesn't shine, which it absolutely should if the beer is named after it. Meh.
