Consumed in the cozy Mont Tremblant Le Diable brewpub. Fun atmosphere but this brew was disappointing. Amber color with a paper thin trace of foam. Extremely thin-bodied and overly boozy, which just gets worse as the beer warms. Caramel malt is the primary flavor takeaway. No Trappist-style spicing was evident. More poutine, please!

Clear liquid with a golden color. Starts with a small but it dissipates completely leaving no lace whatsoever.
Lightly sweet smell, reminds me of hard candy and caramel. The hop is flowery but weak.
Not very Belgian as the yeast is muted. The body is rich with a lower carbonation like the style suggests. The flavor is strongly malt with nearly no hop. The alcohol is present but subtle.

14 oz served in a sniffer style glass.
Strong trappiste style belgium ale at 8.5%. The smooth copper colored nectar was especially brewed for the strong ale lovers. Full bodied ale!
Appearance - beer pours a gorgeous copper color that is little cloudy. Head is about 1 finger and is a slight brownish/off-white. Head appears to have some good mass.
Smell - there is a sweet charasteric hidden in this beer, really draws you in. You can smell a faint amount of hops. The liquor is well hidden. There is a smell of dried banana's that is somewhat dominant.
Taste - WoW - what a unique taste. There is the sweetness surrounded by some bitter hints of citrus. The banana is the dominant taste. The bitterness lingers but does not last long
Mouthfeel - real good amount of carbonation brings the banana/sweet fwd. The beer really develops a bitterness near the end. The feel is clean yet dense on the pallet.
Drinkability- This beer really hit home for me, was a dominant beer on the menu in my opinion. The beer from appearance to mouthfeel brought a lot to the table.
