I spent a little time in Niger some years back and brought a bottle of this back from Niger to aBeer Tasting in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. From my notes then 2012. It looks like fizzy pale cloudly water. Aroma is of burnt rubber and bile. Taste is much the same but watered down. Aftertaste is something I need mouth wash to clean out the lingering mess. One of the top two worst beers I ever drank. Avoid.

It has admittedly been a long time since I had this beer. Visitors to Niger are advised to only drink bottled or canned refreshments so as to avoid fighting amoeba for months. At the time I was there in the late 1980's, choices were water, non-diet coke, Biere Niger, and Heineken. As a matter of pride, locals see it as a compliment to serve a guest Heineken, but I'm not a Heineken fan and preferred the watery Biere Niger even though it is not a great beer. If you are going to Niger, give it a try. I drank a lot of them during my two trips. Very friendly and proud people BTW.
