Smoked Porter

The Smoked Porter was one of Zeta’s rotating offers. Per the menu it is 6.5% and the malt is smoked with cherry wood. Let’s give this one a spin.

Served in a standard pint, the beer is a dark brown with a sliming of a beige head. There is a bit of lacing.

The beer has a nose of roasted malts, dark fruit and just a whiff of wood smoke.

The smoke is more evident in the taste. The beer leads with medium roasted malts, a bit of coffee and some wood smoke. There are some raisin notes and more char late. There is also something a touch vegetal in the after taste to me that's the only minor off note in a pretty solid beer.

The mouth is medium with low carbonation.

I would have another.
