this was an unexpected treat. the place is set up like a sports bar way more than a conventional craft brewery taproom, kind of like its southern counterpart which doesnt produce any beer. they have high ceilings, sports memorabilia and televisions all over, shiny newish looking tanks are visible from a seat at the bar. the space is comfortable, clean, and although somewhat generic, inviting enough. looks like they have a little patio area too, but it appeared to be closed for the season when i was in. nice little selection of beers in here, a handful of classic staples and a few more exciting seasonals. i enjoyed both a robust oktoberfest lager and a tasty el dorago wet hop ipa, both better than anticipated and really quite well done. the service was awesome too, bartender was nice and friendly and chatty, while the brewer guy was also out to talk a little beer with the patrons at the bar, good guy who seems to have his system pretty well dialed in. they do food as well, but i didnt have time for that. there is a lot of nice beer happening in spokane now, and it can be hard to stand out from the crowd. these guys are doing a nice job with the beers and the pub atmosphere, and its a good spot to hang, watch the game, and enjoy a few beers. i was pleased with the quality of the beer and the overall experience, and would recommend checking it out.

Nice place in the Five Mile area of Spokane. The beer is just average I'm afraid and the selection is a bit limited. But if you are in the neighborhood it's worth a stop.

I visited Waddell's last week, and I was pretty impressed. Because it is a lodge-themed sports bar inside, I wouldn't have guessed that they'd have an interesting beer selection; however, there were 17 house taps including multiple sours -- quite pleasing indeed! The beer is decent, if not outstanding, but I applaud their efforts in brewing all kinds of different styles. The food is totally serviceable as well; I had the chicken BLT and it was simple, but tasty.

Stopped by for lunch and a brew. Nice place with a decent selection of their own beers plus a dozen or so taps for "guest" beers, many of which are regional offerings. The food was very good, the lunchtime atmosphere was quiet. It was a beautiful day, so the spacious outdoor seating was available. Much of the seating consists of over sized farmhouse tables with bench seats, perfect for larger parties or just meeting strangers seated at the other end of the table.
The only drawback, to me, is the location. It's easy to drive to and abundant parking, but not well located for neighborhood walk in customers.
