Vienna-style Lager - Our lightest lager in color but not in flavor, these cans don the green emerald crown. Originally named after a dude named Mark, this brew embraces old world brewing methods by utilizing a German acidulated Malt rather than chemical acid to adjust for proper brewing chemistry.

Had on tap over at Fort Hill Brewery. Served in a stein. The beer had a nice, crystal clear golden appearance with some minor lacing. The beer had a good sized head that dissipated into a thin ring around the glass. Nice aromas of malt and grain which followed a light earthy taste in terms of flavor. In terms of mouthfeel, the the body texture was a little watery but there was some crisp carbonation, making this drink really enjoyable. Overall, I liked the mouthfeel the most from this Fort Hill offering.

Big head that settles in a rocky fashion. Mild haze to the corn yellow color. Abundant spotty lace.
Predominately raw grain aroma.
Very light, pale malt and raw grain flavor. Slightly sour. Little to no hop. Short lived finish and aftertaste. Predictably thin but with a neutral level of carbonation

Recently purchased a mixed 12-pack of cans. A good sign to see twelve packs of locally brewed lager at a fair price point.
A- The 12oz can is poured into a slim, tall tumbler revealing a just about crystal clear pale golden beer. A puffy, foamy white head forms to about two fingers high with good retention. Despite a large ring, lacing is revealed in one web and then sparse spots.
S- For the most part clean besides pale grainy malts, light lager yeast fruitiness and spicy grassy hops. Subtle but lacks any of the funk or corn I find in many of the macros.
T- Clean and smooth flavor profile, in a stylistically strong way. Pale cracked graininess, light-medium sweetness, hints of earthy and spicy hops, bready and cracker tones.
MF- Light bodied but actually medium-heavy compared to the vast majority I have sampled in this category. Carbonation is towards the high end and it provokes a smooth, creamy texture.
I have to say I truly enjoyed this beer. It is obviously not a style that has gotten much attention in the craft beer world but this and a few other examples prove that it can still be a good one. Clean, easy-drinking and refreshing.
