With a focus on sessionability, we took fermentation strategies from lagers and applied them to this ale. The old world brewing of this brew would typically result in a Kölsch, but because of our hopping techniques, the result is a session IPA. We hopped this beer by throwing in seven lbs of hops at the beginning of the boil. Right before the unfermented beer was sent into the heat exchanger, we added 100 more pounds of Cascade, Nugget, and Summit, about two pounds per barrel.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden color with a small head of puffy white foam. The head fades a fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is heavy of a bready smell mixed with aromas of citrus hops of grapefruit. Other citrus smells of tangerine and orange rind are there as well. Mixed with these comes notes of dough and hay.
Taste- The taste starts out with a slightly bread and light grainy flavor mixed with a decent showing of grapefruit and a bit of herbal hop. Along with these flavors comes a little bit of citrus sweetness and a touch of hay. As the taste moves forward, a bit of floral hops comes to the tongue, leaving one with a moderately hopped and easy natured taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a moderate carbonation level, both of which are nice for the flavors.
Overall – A rather decent and easy drinking brew.

Big hit of dank hops up front. Finishes dry, happy to say, not sweet. Begs for the next sip. Really nice lower abv IPA. Love the price.

Excellent beer but very hoppy. Pours an orange and has a bready/grassy hop taste

Decent session ipa, drinkable but a bit dry if you have more than a few. Wish it had more of the flavor profile of the fresh pick.

Picked-up a six-pack of cans at Kappy's in Norwell for about eight! dollars. My fourth brew from these guys. No canned-on date, but beer from these never sits long in my area. This was a disappointment, bland, nothing special, would not get again.

Fort Hill still isn't dating their cans, could be a few weeks old or a year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Real bummer.
Pours a hazy pale orange with high particulate and a finger + half of fluffy white head. Lots of different herbal light fruit on first nose; notes of light peach, florals (chamomile), light herbal tea, a tiny hint of licorice, bark, light pepper, soft pineapple and an oat-like malt. Taste is balanced, the malt might be a little more pronounced due to age, but I can't be sure. All the notes of the nose are there, but everything is light, so you get a little bit of one of them, it fades, then another shows up. Great medium body for a 5% brew. Dry, slightly bitter finish with a little stickiness. Overall, a wonderful lower ABV IPA at a great price point (7.99 for a 6 pack of 12oz cans). Fort Hill is the best bang for the buck you can get in New England and this brew holds it own amongst the rest.

Hazy, fizzy session NEIPA with a fruit-seltzer taste that looks great in a glass and goes down easy. My first dalliance with this brewery and I’ll def be sampling their wares again.
