A bright, citrusy Double IPA with a deceptively light body and dry flavor. To compose this brew, we borrowed techniques used by Belgian brewers to achieve a big beer without much sweetness. The Citra dry hop gives this beer its bright citrus notes and aroma.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed yellow color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a doughy and bready smell mixed with notes of topical fruits of tangerine and papaya, as well as a bit of pineapple. Other aromas of a boozy alcohol smell and a bit of harvest fruit and must are there as well, mixing with some grapefruit and herbal hop smells. The mix of aromas creates a rather odd, slightly off putting, aroma overall.
Taste – The taste starts out with a light grainy and rather heavy malty flavor with a decent showing of grapefruit hop and some light pine. Other light fruit tastes of apple, pear, and tangerine. At the same time there is a decent showing of alcohol booziness and a hint of pine hop. As the taste advances the booziness increases, al while the fruit flavors upfront fad a tad. At the end the graininess increases a touch, leaving one with a dry, moderately boozy, and malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is super thick with a carbonation level is moderate. For the big booziness and the maltiness the feel is rather nice and makes for a slow sipper.
Overall – Ahh. A bit of too malty and heavy with a rather boozy taste overall. Not one I will go back to.

This is a great DIPA by a great local brewery. I only wish it had a thicker mouthfeel and was a little less boozy; then it would be perfection. Yeah definitely a kinda too boozy IPA. But still a great offering and has a well-deserved growing following in my area. Fort Hill is making really good stuff! Check ‘em out if you can!

Bought this as was highly recommended by The Guy At The Liquor Store, to whom I will now be going to with every question I ever have about anything. He said it was the best local double IPA the store carried.

Poured into pint glass from 12 ounce can.

Pale gold-yellow in color, 2-finger head and almost suspiciously photogenic lacing. If only beers could be supermodels. Smells very melony; different from other double IPAs I've sniffed, but I'm not complaining. Taste has strong melon and citrus notes before giving way to the hops. Perfectly light and dry and crisp on its way down. It's just a beautifully done beer.

On top of that... It's AFFORDABLE. I've gotten super used to paying like 15 bucks for those 16 ounce four packs when it comes to craft. This was ten bucks for a six pack. The bang for your buck is almost unjustifiably massive.

Anyway, of course I have reservations about giving any beer fives across the board like this, but honestly? I can't find a category to knock it in. I cannot identify a problem with this beer. And I am trying to! I just can't. This is the double IPA that other, lesser double IPAs aspire to be. Hops point to Jigsaw Jazz and say "that's what I want to be when I grow up". This is it. This is the beer. All the other beers can go home.

Pours a hazy straw color with a small fluffy head and moderate lacing.

Smells of slightly dank grassy hops and grapefruit.

Tastes of slightly tart grapefruit and melons with a slightly finish.

Medium light body with light prickly carbonation. Smooth dry mouthfeel.

This is an excellent, dangerously drinkable lightly fruity and bitter NEIPA.

This is the single best DIPA I have ever tasted.
The first line of the description is exactly right on.
"A bright, citrusy Double IPA with a deceptively light body and dry flavor."
Clean, is the only word I would add to that. Every time.
I am astonished that they can get it the same so consistently.
Well done Fort Hill. This is nothing short of a masterpiece. Thanks for keeping it reasonably priced.

Bought at Kappys in Norwell 2 six packs (and 2 Fresh Pick) outstanding beers both and a bargain! Jigsaw Jazz is a great DIPA at 9.3ABV goes down too smooth and easy. Melon and citrus up front with a hint of super glue (sounds bad but isn't) very well balanced brew one of my favorites. Fort Hill has great beers at affordable priced

Jazz is meant to get you on your feet and dancing around and that is exactly what this beer does at 9.3% ABV. However it does not drink as one may expect a high alcohol beer would. You are greeted by a beautiful haziness that boasts an almost golden color. It smells of tropical fruits that add wonderful flavor to the beer as you drink. Not too carbonated and allows for a drinking experience that makes you want to crack another, which not many 9.3%s can say. A great find by my lovely girlfriend.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a clear straw yellow with a solid finger sticky white head that leaves loads of lace with nice retention. 4.25

Smell is ripe melon, apricot, mango, pine, and some grapefruit rind. 4.25

Taste follows honey dew, mango, upfront with pine, apricot, and grapefruit in the bold yet balanced finish. 4.25

Mouthfeel is big, plenty of life, a touch dry and sticky, and at 9.3% extremely easy drinking. 4.25

Overall I like visiting my old roots and this is a nice balanced in your face DIPA. 4.25

This is a unique beer. I’ve never tasted anything quite like it in the double IPA space. It’s super carbonated, hazy golden in color and the flavors are floral, fruity and almost a smoky malty finish. Very drinkable at such a high ABV. Very reasonable price, too at $10.99 for six 12 oz c cans. Would recommend for sure.

An exceptional value for $9.69/ 6 pack. This one caught me off guard with its bittersweet profile and very light appearance as well as body. A bit boozy. A very fine beer in its own right but at this price a true winner.
