This imperial stout is brewed using a polygyle technique, where we take the wort from one batch of grain and infuse it a second time with additional malt to increase the amount of sugar and body, bumping the ABV past 10%. Aged on oak, this is a big and bold, yet drinkable, stout.

Pours a tan frothy fizzy 1 finger head with med retention, a bit of lacing, pitch black color
Nose brings lots of dark roast, dark chocolate, some cocoa, baking spice, smokey heavy roast with a bit of char, bit of marshmallow nougat, rich caramel as it warms
Taste starts with dark chocolate, cocoa, chocolate ganache and nougat, a bit of burnt marshmallow, big roast, a touch smokey, charred malt and burnt roast but not a lot, more baking spices, spicy hops with med bitterness also some from the roast, a touch of smooth alcohol, some caramel late, drier finish with med alcohol warmth and spicy hops, with more burnt roast and hint of acrid roast
Mouth is fuller bod, fair rich and a bit creamy, med to a bit higher frothy carb, fair warming alcohol
Overall not bad, nothing great, a bit overly roasted burnt characters, otherwise good
