The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with no head nor lacing. The smell has a ton of sweet to sour grapes up front. Light herbal to sweet malts are in the background. The taste was mainly sour with barely any sweetness from the malts. Again, the sweetness comes from the grapes. There’s a light grape-like aftertaste running into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light along my tongue. Overall, barely any Marzen/Oktoberfest qualities noted, definitely leans towards the Sour/Wild ale side yet I could see myself having this again.
