Po Tweet is a sour pale ale packed with a blend of our favorite local Four Star Farms hops. It's bright and well balanced, slightly hazy and tart, very dank and fruity. One sip and you'll want to finish the whole growler. So it goes.

Canned 5/10/23. “Tweetsie roll” stamped on the side of the can
It’s been a minute since I’ve reviewed anything from my Hermit Thrush haul from earlier this year. I had a can of this one before reviewing and wasn’t particularly impressed, though I expected that given the age and the hops. Oh well, let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy deep gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is sharp and tangy, not exactly screaming 18 month old beer and that’s fine by me. I’m picking up on aromas of crabapple, lemon zest, white pepper, lime juice, crackery malt, grass, light herbal hops, and juniper
It’s a tad bland in taste but really not that bad all things considered. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting apple skin, lime zest, lemon meringue, grassy hops, crackery malt, straw, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, wildflower honey, lemon zest, wet hay, apple coder vinegar, grassy hops, and light white pepper
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes a bit sticky but dries out quickly
I actually find myself appreciating this one more as I look at it critically. It’s still not amazing but better than I initially gave it credit for

Pours a clear light amber with an off white head.
Smells intensly sour and slightly sweet, a little chalky, like an intense sweet tart.
Tart apple and raspberry with earthy floral wood notes. Very deliscious.

OMFG! All of my plans have just suddenly taken a turn off of the rails! One unexpected thing segues into the next, into the next, ad nauseum! Jeezum H. Christopher! At least there is one CANstant - The CANQuest (tm)! This CAN stands as my last argument about putting craft beer into CANs! I heard SO many times over - "They'll NEVER put ANY Wild Ale in a CAN! Who would even buy, let alone drink such a thing?!?" LOL! 8=) He who laughs last, laughs best. Admittedly, this was beyond even MY wildest dreams (pun kinda intended), but CAN you argue with me now? Howzabout @another6pack or Russ Phillips? We were the early triumvirate as advoCANtors for CANned Craft Beer! Viva The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "One Pint of Craft Ale"; "Sour Pale Ale with Local Hops"; "New American Sours Brewed Responsibly"; "Hermit Thrush Brewery uses historical brewing processes, oak casks, and new green technologies to make exciting beer while minimizing environmental impacts. Using exclusively wild-harvested yeast, we highlight local flavors and ingredients in each of our beers. Cans recycle and ship using less energy than glass, and our wood pellet fueled brewhouse eliminates any need for fossil fuels in our brewing. Are you ready to break free from the flock?"; "Get Beer Off Oil"; "Po Tweet is a sour pale ale packed with a blend of our favorite local Four Star Farm hops. I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. Unlike the previous two, this one actually formed two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with staying power, slowly falling while leaving nice lacing in its wake. Color was liquid sunshine in my glass, Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, enticing The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus to try it, despite its funky odor. Nose had an odd citrusy, floral funkiness, like funkified citronella. Hmm. Mouthfeel had some density to it, medium, but big for this style. The taste was interesting, but not as they billed it as I did not taste "dank". Instead, it was really citrusy with a puckering tart lemoniness that gradually built into a grapefruit citrusiness. It was bright & spritzy and a nice palate-cleanser after the previous one. It was quite pleasant throughout and easy to finish the whole CAN, as they mentioned. Finish was dry, but nowhere near as dry as the previous one. YMMV.

Serving: Can
No date (Consumed Sep-10)
A:
Hazy dirty gold with a short-lived soapy head of two fingers. Little retention; no lacing. (3.5)
S:
Apple skin, light earthy must, brown sugar, a little spice. A sour apple pie, really. (4)
T:
Nice tart flavor with some underlying breadiness, a little hop bite and a full malty finish. (4)
M:
Dry and tart with active carbonation and a lingering malty/zingy finish. (4)
O:
An interesting, complex but approachable sour.
It is nicely balanced with noticeable aspects of every ingredient present as far as I can taste. It is primarily sour but is definitely a pale ale and has a really nice, round bready flavor to the finish. Drinkable and very good in general. (4)

From a 16oz can with an illegible date stamp - I’m guessing it says 05/15/19. Served in a tulip.
Pours a semi-opaque dull orange-gold with two-plus fingers of pouffy, lumpy fluff. The head holds up well for a couple of minutes before settling back to a fizzy cap and a foamy collar with the odd speckle of lacing.
A fairly intense, clean and sharp nose, principally of cider vinegar but with some fruity, flowery, perfumy aromatics wafting through.
Taste is what the nose led me to expect, tart but with the sharpness rounded and mellowed by the flowery character I smelled, like carnations or gardenias or something like that. Lemon, beeswax and rose hips. Leaves a little lemony aftertaste.
Feel is bright and quenching, medium bodied with fine, light carbonation. Finishes quick and clean,
A fine and tasty kettle-soured pale ale. I do believe I’ll have another.
