Golden color. Medium-sized, quickly dissolving head. Lemon and some wood in funky aroma. It has a sour taste with a little bit of astringency. Not bad, but something is missing.

A: The beer is relatively clear yellowish amber in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving some large wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sour apples are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is rather sour and has notes of green apple flavors.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and somewhat tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer was more sour than it was fruity, but in general terms I would consider it to be an easy drinking American Wild Ale because it wasn't too sour or tart.

Wishing Hermit Thrush would put the respected number of each release on their cans, however, I believe this is the correct one since I have a newly found can.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking bronzed yellow to copper color with a sly transparency about it. Some carbonation could be seen rising at a level rate. Just a thin cap of a little white semi-foamy head. Quickly subsiding to barely leave any lace.
The aroma had a lush soft green apple sweet to tart and sly quick semi-sweet woody barrel upbringing. Sweet grassiness underneath.
The flavor meshes the tart to the sweet to the sour through a variety of green apples. Barely any aftertaste, but somewhat a clean mobile green apple.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt fine. Green apple sour to tart and sweet finish.
Overall, a very nicely done sour ale and probably one of the my favorites by this brewer!

16oz. can.
Oak Aged Session Sour Ale.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch white head over a reddish amber body with no lacing. Head is gone in a couple minutes. Nice nose of oak and grapefruit. Taste of very tart berry or currant and oak. Good feel and overall, at 3.4% abv, a tart beer lover could drink this all day. Cheers!
