Enjoy by 2025
Weird, of all the Hermit Thrush beers I picked up from my only haul there, this is the only one I’ve seen so far with a best by date as opposed to a canning date. Either way, I’ve already had a few cans of this and quite enjoyed it, so I’m certain this will be a rather positive review. Let’s dive right in
Pours a murky pale gold with 2 fingers of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves nice lacing
This is super peach forward in the nose but also brings along a considerable funk. I’m picking up on aromas of jammy peach, dry oak, wet hay, peach pit, lemon zest, brown sugar, old leather, wildflower honey, earthy wheat, and apricot
It’s less sharp than you’d expect in taste. Still good but lacks some of the bite suggested in the nose. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting peach skin, bready malt, sweet honey, white pepper, lemon zest, smooth oak, straw, and apricot. The swallow brings notes of peach skin, lemon zest, wet hay, smooth oak, vanilla bean, apricot, peach pit, dry oak, and light clove
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes neutral and balanced
I wish this one was a bit more aggressive but it’s great as is

Pours a hazy light orange, 1" white head that leaves big streaks of lacing. Nose is slightly acetic, oaky, a little peachy. Taste is puckery and tart with hints of white peach and a very long, musty, woodsy finish. Feel is moderately viscous but with sharp carbonation.

Supah Peach from Hermit Thrush Brewing. Received on 9/4/21 from @Rub_This_BBQ in NBW BIF #13. 16 oz can stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 11/5/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 48.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 52.5 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear.
Body – Gold (SRM 5), clear. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.5 cm, aggressive center pour), off white, high density, fizzy, short retention, diminishing to no crown and some tiny center islands. Second pour produces no head.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4 – Initially smells peachy, sour, and oily. The peach and oil quickly fade. No malt, no hops, no yeast, no oak.
Flavor – 4 – Begins moderately sour and acidic with hints of peach, no malt, no hops, no yeast, no oak. No ethanol (7 % ABV, marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, watery with a bit of oil, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated on personal container) A pleasing wild ale, one in which the fruit can actually be detected.
