Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a soft dark bronzed copper color with barely any head and lace.
The aroma had some apple cider vinegar, sweet woody barrel, some lemon pulp and rind and some sour to light funky grassy character on the back end.
The flavor embraced the sour side mostly throughout my consumption, some sweet dry to woody barrel spices align in some sort of weird yeasty balance. Aftertaste of apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and sweet woody barrel.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a pure sipping quality about it. Sour power holds it's own against the rising tide of the sweetness however, it does beat back the sweetness with enough carbonation and its own harshness helping for a great balance. Finish of apple cider vinegar, lemon pulp and sour grassy character.
Overall, pretty nicely done American wild ale done up by Hermit Thrush and Burlington Beer Company, I'd have again. ABV felt appropriate.
