Once again, I'm on quite a roll with this Party Jam series. Just a few weeks back I reviewed the strawberry variant, and last week at a work party I tried the blood orange variant, of which I wasn't a huge fan. Maybe I'll pick up a can to actually review at some point. Anyhow, tangerine should be an interesting candidate for a fruit in this beer. But let's find out

Pours a hazy brownish orange with 3 fingers of fluffy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

The sharp citrus really works well with the natural funk of the base beer. I'm picking up on aromas of orange juice, wet hay, tangerine rind, lemon rind, light leather, and white wine vinegar

The same applies in taste! Even better here actually, the funk builds a base for the fruit to work on top of. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart tangerine, lemon juice, white grape, old leather, and a touch of minerally white wine. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, tart tangerine, straw, white wine vinegar, musty oak, and light lemon

A light medium body pairs with moderate prickly carbonation, resulting in a pleasantly sharp beer. Finishes mostly dry and quite tart

Damn, this may be the best in the series yet. Not overly complicated or simple. This series does a nice job of somewhat hiding the fact that this is kettle soured and not wild/mixed fermentation

I love Hermit Thrush. I do not like kettle sours however. I love all of HT's wine-gin barrel aged beers. I can understand that kettle souring is more economical and they can get their beer out to stores that way but I tried their basic wine-gin barrel aged beers and I'd much rather have those and the price won't break the bank for them either. It hurst to post an average review of HT but kettle souring is makes inferior sour beer.

Hazy orange body with an off-white cap that fades. Tangerine dominates in smell and taste, with decent sourness and sweetness. Supporting lacto, peach, lemon and general oj flavors and aromas. Little thin before the sour and slightly acidic finish. A good summer sour
