One of a special series, this barrel aged sour pale ale was aged in French oak barrels for 18-30 months. We hope you kids who grew up in the 90’s enjoy this one! As always, 100% wild Brattleboro yeast.

Canning date obstructed
I’m working through the back log of Hermit Thrush beers from my one and only massive haul there that I haven’t reviewed. There’s only a few left and pretty much just one left of each four pack so I’ll try to get through these soon but who knows
Pours cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of soapy off white head that quickly fades to nothing and obviously leaves no lacing
The nose is pretty mild here, this is definitely one of the older cans I have. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon yogurt, green apple, biscuity malt, smooth oak, wet hay, and light orange zest
There’s more to it in taste but it’s quite sharp which I usually prefer but it’s a bit much here. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lemon juice, wet hay, white wine vinegar, sharp oak, apple skin, and light white pepper. The swallow brings notes of tannic white wine, sharp oak, crabapple, straw, coriander, white pepper, lemon zest, and light doughy malt
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing despite the acidity
This one is decent but doing a bit too much and is definitely past its prime. Oh well

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
