Innovation Brew Works

Teaching brewpub in modern commercial building on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona. Service bar opposite the entrance with tables about the room, and counter seat along the perimeter. A dozen beers on tap. Young, inexperienced staff. I did not try the food.

We only had pizzas and beer, but everything was at least good. Some items were very good. I liked my rustic pizza topped with mixed greens and balsamic, and the wife's Margherita pizza was also delectable. They're the thin little pies that are quick cooked, but in a machine here, not a wood fired oven. It still provided a reasonable facsimile. Beers were uniformly solid, but not particularly noteworthy. Something to like for everyone.

 

 

So far the beers I've tried here have not been horrible, but rather just plain unimaginative. I'm not sure if these are Cal Poly students brewing the beer or who is in charge, but I think they should really experiment with different methods and ingredients. Hopefully the beers here become better as it becomes more established over the course of time.
