Pours a slightly hazy honey colour, with a 1 finger head which dissipates to a thin film and moderate fizz. Plenty of lacing.
A lot of that rye sweetness and spiciness comes through on the nose - tropical fruits like pineapple, passionfruit, and a more subtle lemon zest hint to it - more fresh aromas than sweet. Spice comes through too with a hint of clove, angostura bitters, and a bit of saison funk.
A dry start and the grapefruit bitters come up front, building to a rainforest air-like leafy taste. A bit of saison funk is present in the mid body, softening the big hop flavour with a bit of musk sweetness. The tropical fruits come through in the aftertaste with the pineapple, mandarin, rockmelon and honey coming through.
Slightly oily mouthfeel, clean and crisp with just the right amount of fizz, and a slightly dry finish from the hop bitterness keeps you wanting more. This one goes down easily and the mouthfeel is spot on.
A very refreshing hop-forward pale, with a good bit of complexity to keep you wanting more. Always a winner on their taps.
