Copenhagen 24/1 2022. 33 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Crowded psychedelic can with a pattern in yellow, pink and purple and White Hag’s pretty cool logo.
Pours dark, clear brown with a red hue. Big light beige head. Stable. Settles as 0,4 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with sourish notes. Toasted dark malts, toffee, chocolate mousse, caramel. Sour berries peeking in.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is pleasant and sweet with a light sourish twist. Lingers for a while.
Smooth and pleasant. And fairly intense.

330 ml can, from KWM Wines & Spirits. ABV is 5.2%. Very dark brown to black colour, huge beige head, overcarbonated. Dryish aroma of roast malts, hints of mild coffee and dark chocolate, a whiff of dark berries. Thin mouthfeel. Dry flavour of moderate roast malts, hints of mild coffee, dark chocolate and prunes.

Comes in the usual, colourful White Hag 330ml can.
Oatmeal porter, as stated on the can, I only wonder if they would miss the spot again with a “too light for the flavour” type beer as they did with their “The Dark Druid” series.
Top: forms an inch of tan head, slightly less than average retention. Fades into very little to no lacing.
Colour: clear and cola like, while pouring, it’s definitely not jet black.
Smell: this one needs a few minutes of decanting to show its best. First it’s mostly coffee, a little yeast, smoked and roasted malts, then it develops its character, a LOT of coffee and creamy milk chocolate with intense vanilla aroma. Smells absolutely delicious.
Taste: smooth and silky with some tingling from the med- carbonation. Light body (why?!), semi-dry finish. Mostly coffee and smokey notes, not as sweet as you’d expect from the smell. Extremely easy to drink. Coffee and cream in the lasting aftertaste.
Summary: it’s a lovely light beer with a delightful smell, ideal to drink with desserts. Unfortunately, they made it too light again, I wonder why that is. It’d be truly great if they’d make an imperial version of it. This and all The Dark Druid lineup needs more body, otherwise the smell and flavour is spot on.
