I stopped by today for the first time just to try this beer and was pleasantly surprised. I'd never stopped before because the parking lot was almost always empty, never more than two cars. Turns out there is a parking lot behind the tasting room you can't see from the road and they are really hopping.
So on to the beer. I tried it in the beer flight, and it was a light amber, slightly hazy brew with a half finger head that left some lacing. Not as much as their West Coast IPA or ESB, but a fair amount.
Aroma was light, sweet and floral, far different than you would expect from a DIPA with that ABV. Welcome but surprising.
Taste... NOT a hop monster. It was bready and biscuity, with some light pine hops, but not as big of a hop bite as other IPAs. Not sure whether to dock them for that or not, but as it was delicious I won't.
Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy, well carbonated but not too much so. Not overly bitter or astringent at all.
Oveall I will give this beer good marks because it was a very tasty brew that felt really good going down and hid the ABV well.
