Picked this up over the weekend at a local Trader Joe's in Thousand Oaks. An employee recommended it and sure didn't disappoint. Smells amazing and has a nice 1.5" head. The flavor is what got me hooked, it's caramel and a bit fruity yet not overly sweet. It isn't too bitter but still has enough bitterness to keep you enjoying it and wanting more. Overall, it's worth trying and one of my new favorite beers.. Haven't seen it anywhere else besides the one TJ's, so if you see it on the shelf you might as well grab it while you can. Very unique flavor and not far north of my hometown. Excellent IPA in my opinion

Bright orange ale with a good sized white head. The orange color of this beer comes as a surprise, it is REALLY IPA Orange.
Smells hoppy. Strong scents of menthol and camphor. Charred grain scent. Scent of burnt sugar. Smells faintly soapy.
Starts out savory and salty and meaty. Roasted malt flavor isn't covered up by too much hops. Medium bitterness level.
Mouthfeel is good.
Overall this is more tasty than I ever expected. Well worth a try.

On tap at the Surf 'N' Suds Beer Festival held at Carpenteria State Beach in Carpenteria, CA.
Pours a hazy golden-orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, tea, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with earth, citrus zest, and pine needle flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mix of citrus and earthy hops all around.
Serving type: on tap.
