Yooper® Ale is brewed for those who find beauty in simplicity. Citra and Michigan Chinook hops pique your senses with bright citrus and ripened peach aroma. Flaked oats give this pale ale a velvety mouthfeel, while the hop profile imparts a balanced, moderately bitter finish.

Pours a hazy amber color with a small white head on top. Smell is of hops and citrusy peach notes. Taste starts off a bit malty then has a hop finish.

First impression is very good. Refreshing first taste, crisp, bitter but balanced good flavor. I like that it’s lower ABV. Pairing very nicely with my smoked whitefish dip. Only downside was a slight lingering sweetness but very very slight. Almost unnoticeable. Otherwise a well rounded great pale ale.

Received as a gift from my grandson and son's trip to the UP. Beautiful to look at in my glass and pleasant to drink.
This is a easy drinking smooth pale ale. Nothing special just pleasantly enjoyable. I would definitely buy this if I had a chance and could see myself enjoying regularly if I lived closer than 9 hours from the UP.

Poured from 12-ounce can into a vintage beer goblet, because it seemed like the #proper thing to do. Hazy golden-yellow colored body, with a rather aggressive pour yielding two fingers of fluffy white head that left some sticky lacing. This is quite flavorful without being overly heavy. Notes of citrus and tropical fruit predominate, with a backbone of light caramel and bready malt. No sweetness to speak of. Rather light bodied, with a crisp and slightly astringent finish and a lot of orange-zest bitterness lingering on the palate. Excellent with food, and a perfect accompaniment for the Yooper seven-course meal (i.e. a pasty and a six-pack). Toivo says "Kippis!"

Great to see all these new breweries popping up in the UP. Let’s give this one a whirl. Popping the top I get a waft of piney and citrus. Pours to a cloudy bright orange with a bright white head. Taste is hoppy bite up front. Mouthfeel a bit watery. Not much body. Fruity in the middle and clean finish. This is only a 4.0 ABV so I would call it an ale light. For that not bad but calling this an ale is somewhat of a misnomer. A higher ABV would fill out the body and make for a better mouthfeel.

Look: Gold and clear. One finger of foamy white head with good retention. Could easily be mistaken for a lager.
Smell: Strong hop scent with citrus and pine notes. Noticeable orange peel note.
Taste: Orange peel and citrusy hops with limited bitterness. Mild, almost unnoticeable hop flavor under such fruity hops.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, full body. High carbonation.
Overall: A fruity ale that’s easy to drink without being challenging.

Not bad. Pours a nice copper color, the head dissipates fairly quickly and leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Mild citrus aromas; the taste is a bit lighter than I expected from the color. Reasonably balanced but not particularly outstanding in any way. It's certainly quite drinkable, and it's low ABV makes it a reasonable choice for a session.

Was sad to find that Upper Hand Lager was gone from the bottling line-up and in its place was another pale ale. Especially considering how much I enjoy UPA. Upon cracking open the can, my disappointment dissappeared. Nice orange and grapefruit aromas surrounded by caramel malt and peach tea. The flavor is surpasses smoothness, with just enough grapefruit pith bitterness balanced against juicy, fleshy stone fruit.
