Opened a sticker-labeled 12 oz. can from the bottom into a pint glass. Poured out thick, dark, and smooth like motor oil. Very little lacing, which dissipated quickly. Smell is not strong, it is hard to detect unless your nose is right up on it, it is dank. Taste, unlike smell, lingers for a long time. Thirty seconds and it's still there. This is in the "over-ripe" sweet fruit family - papaya, guava perhaps. Feel is the best attribute - nice and crisp as I prefer. I'm not ordinarily a fan of DIPAs, this is slightly better than the average DIPA.
I now see it is 10% ABV - the burn is there, but I wouldn't have expected to see 10%.

Pours a polished copper color like a Pennie. Gives off the scent of booze and citrus. Definitely bitter with alcohol overtone. It’s masked somewhat but it still overwhelms the citrus taste. Light carbonation with a thick feel. Nice lacing left behind.
= A decent DIPA. Definitely worth a try even though the alcohol tends to overwhelm the citrus. I expected more but it still does the trick.

poured a little more amber than i expected. looks good, but i was thinking this would be a bit on the lighter side. a thin head with some sparse lacing down the side.
nose is a nice blend of aromas - citrus and pine are there, but neither really rules this one. leans a little to the fruity side.
taste is kind of the same. fruitier up front, and pine and bitterness come afterward.
a bit viscous, but that's to be expected. alcohol is reasonably well disguised for 10%.
a really nice DIPA. nothing amazing. nothing i'd wait in line to buy. but if i had to find a no-nonsense beer with some teeth, i'd pick this one up again anytime.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter. Bottled 2/21/17.
A: Pours a translucent, golden orange in color with a very slight reddish tinge. One half inch, frothy, white head with minimal retention. Thick, white lacing throughout.
S: Big aromas of pineapple, mangos, guava, papaya, mixed berries, tangerine, and grapefruit with hints of piney and floral hops.
T: Big notes of grapefruit and citrus rinds. Big malt backbone with notes of crackers and biscuits. Hints of tropical fruits. Finishes with a lingering piney, resinous hop bitterness.
F: Medium bodied, smooth, and crisp with moderate carbonation. Slightly dry on the finish.
O: Overall, this is a good DIPA. Nose is fantastic. Big malty backbone, which typically isn't my cup of tea in a DIPA, but this is well done. Would definitely give it another try.

This beer pours a clear copper with a large head. The aroma is replete with peaches, nectarines, cantaloupe, mango, pineapple, brown sugar, candied fruit, and other sweet, syrupy fruit. The flavor is round and full, with mango, peach, sticky pine, nectarine, and light caramel. The mouthfeel is full bodied with light springy carbonation. Overall this is a wonderfully rich beer, with tons of peach and tropical flavor, a great body, and a lot of that "goes-down-too-quickly" attitude.

L: Very good look to this beer. Dark golden color with a good amount of head that lasted.
S: Citrus, pine and hops here but nothing stands out and everything is a little subtle for my taste.
T: Solid taste with all the smells represented. Like the mix here and its stronger than the smell suggested.
F: Great full-bodied fell here with a solid amount of carbonation.
O: Really good DIPA here that I would definitely enjoy having again.

This beer is the bee's knees. Pours a bright golden yellow. smells very fruity. Taste is a big smack to the face of citrusy goodness with very little in the way of bitterness. Just a light malt backbone. This beer is all hops (and only Equinox hops, at that). Body is thin and slick, a real easy drinker, even at 10% ABV. Reminds me a little bit of TG's King Sue. I totally agree with the other reviewer about this beer. If it had a larger distro footprint it could easily be the next "it" beer. Sad to see this one go away as it is seasonal, but looking forward to seeing it again next summer.

I really believe this is one of the most underrated double IPAs I have ever drank. It seems to be Hop Slams baby sister. I believe it has a great finish, nice multi backbone.
