Two weeks old. Bottled from tap at the brewery. Bottle to conical pint glass.
Look: Pours a dark brown with a creamy light brownish foam.
Smell: Clove and a hint of cinnamon.
Taste: Clove up front. Minor cinnamon and dark chocolate notes. Clove notes stay dominant the whole way even though they fade a bit the longer the beer stands. Almost no sweetness.
Feel: Creamy mouthfeel. Minimal carbonation. A bit light bodied.
Overall: Even though it tastes christmassy, which is good for a christmas stout, the clove notes are overpowering and do not leave much room for anything else. Hints of cinnamon and a chocolaty bitterness appear as the beer warms. However, both stay in the background. Would have benefitted from sweet christmassy notes of e.g. gingerbread.
