Two months old. Bottle to snifter.
Look: Pours a dark brown with a stable whitish head.
Smell: Very fruity. Mainly sour cherries and red grapes.
Taste: Dark and sour fruits. Again sour cherries and grapes. A bit roasty. Minimal chocolate notes. Slightly bitter.
Feel: Smooth mouthfeel, but unfortunately a bit thin. Nice level of carbonation though.
Overall: I know it‘s supposed to be a barrel aged stout, but to me it tastes more like a dark sour ale. It’s impressive to see how the typical fruity Glengoyne notes found their way into this brew, but in this case they are clearly overpowering. Still a nice experiment with an interesting outcome.
